Pair Two PassThru Devices Over the Internet
Diagnose & Code Any Car — From Anywhere
Remote Portal Software creates a bridge between your device and the vehicle, linking two J2534 PassThru interfaces over the network. The device at the car (Vehicle side) connects to the OBD port, and the Technician runs their diagnostic or coding software as if the interface were plugged in right next to them. No travel, no shipping ECUs, no moving hardware between bays.
Free download — an active subscription is required to pair devices.
How the Pairing Works
A Live Bridge Between Both Ends
The Vehicle side carries the connection, the Technician side runs the tools — in real time.
At the Vehicle
PassThru plugged into the OBD port. Remote Portal carries the OBD communication across the encrypted bridge.
Needs only the interface + car
At the Technician
The Technician's diagnostic or coding tool connects through Remote Portal as if the car were plugged in locally.
Runs your existing software
Connect From Anywhere
The Technician's tool runs as if the car were plugged in locally — no interface needed on their side.
Encrypted Session
Each pairing uses a unique code; the link between the two ends is encrypted.
Real-Time Link
OBD communication is carried live so timing-sensitive routines stay stable.
Choose Your License
Local or Global
Same workshop on one network, or paired across the world.
Local Portal
For two devices on the same local internet — same workshop, multiple bays.
- Pair two PassThru devices on the same LAN
- Lowest latency — ideal for multi-bay workshops
- Run diagnostics from the office, car in the bay
- No interface needed on the Technician side
- Encrypted local session
- Worldwide / public-internet pairing
Global Portal
For pairing anywhere in the world — sell remote diagnostics & coding to any customer.
- Pair anywhere worldwide over public internet
- Sell remote diagnostics, coding & key services
- No traveling to the customer's vehicle
- No interface needed on the Technician side
- Encrypted cross-network session
- Everything in Local Portal, plus global reach
Who It's For
Built for Remote Service Providers
Stop moving hardware. Bring your expertise to any car, wherever it is.
Sell Remote Diagnostics & Coding
Offer paid remote sessions — diagnostics, ECU coding, adaptations — to customers anywhere with the Global license.
Multi-Bay Workshops
Keep your tooling at one station and connect to any bay over the local network — no more wheeling laptops and interfaces around.
Key & Module Specialists
Run brand-specific or hard-to-license tools remotely for shops that don't own them — the car stays on their lift.
Mobile Techs & Partners
A field tech plugs in the interface on the Vehicle side; the back-office Technician does the work. One pairing code links them instantly.
Connection Requirements
A Stable Link Matters on Both Ends
Remote Portal carries live OBD communication, so connection quality directly affects session stability — especially for timing-sensitive coding routines.
- A stable internet connection on both the Vehicle and Technician side — wired is preferred over Wi-Fi.
- The Local license requires both devices on the same local network; the Global license works across the public internet worldwide.
- Each PC needs a J2534 PassThru interface with its drivers installed (the Vehicle-side interface connects to the car).
- Keep the vehicle on a battery maintainer during long remote coding sessions to avoid voltage drops.
